Lake Placid is home to a diverse range of events, capitalizing on our open spaces, outdoor adventures, community spirit, and state-of-the-art venues.

Our Olympic spirit is strong, and can be seen in all of the world-class sporting events we host year-round, from the Empire State Winter Games to Ironman. Live entertainment also thrives in our mountain town at the many local taverns and restaurants. For a perfect night out, the Arts Center Lake Placid brings exciting classes and dynamic performances in all seasons.

Endless events, no matter the season

No matter the temperature, Lake Placid's events never fail to impress. Spring, summer, fall, and winter all bring their own unique calendar, from Olympic trials to annual events that have become family traditions for many. 

In the warmer months, events really start to heat up. Summer kicks off with our 4th of July celebration and the Lake Placid and I Love New York Horse Shows happening at the same time! In the fall, when the leaves turn the mountains a fiery red, look forward to Oktoberfest and the Lake Placid Film Festival. 

As temperatures drop for winter, Lake Placid events reflect our wonderland atmosphere. In December, join us for the Holiday Village Stroll for a chance to meet Santa and celebrate the festive season! And in spring, during the Adirondacks’ season of regrowth, see winter training pay off at the Lake Placid Marathon.
