Lake Placid Summit Classic LAX Tournament

July 27–August 2, 2026

The event began with a modest 7-team field in 1990 playing 14 total games and began doubling in size on an annual basis. After 37 years, the event has evolved into a week-long event with more than 200 teams from all over the United States, featuring boys, girls, men, and women, ranging in age from 14-70+.

The Lake Placid Summit Classic is a true celebration of lacrosse and camaraderie with Lake Placid and the Adirondacks as the backdrop. Some features of the scholastic portion of the event include the Girls Nike Northstar (commit) Division, the Boys Summit Division, and an extensive vendor village. Features of the adult portion of the event include a brand new Men’s 70+ Division, a Women’s 35+ Division, many collegiate alumni teams, and the annual Legends of LP Lax Ceremony.

Comradery & Competition 

The games are contested on 13 playing fields at three separate venues, North Elba Athletic Fields, (Route 73, Recycle Circle) Fields 1-6; Lake Placid Athletic Fields at the North Elba Horse Show Grounds (Route 73), Fields 7-11; Northwood School (Northwood Road), Fields 12-13. In 1990, seven teams played fourteen games; look how far this event has come! Teams from all over the continent participate in this international tournament. The public is encouraged to get out and see some of the action, admission, and parking are totally free and food and beverages are available at the North Elba Playing Fields venue.
