Airports near Lake Placid

Lake Placid is approximately a two-hour drive from the international airports in Albany, NY (ALB), Burlington, VT (BTV), and Montreal, QC (YUL). Car rental services are available at all three airports.

Plattsburgh International Airport PBG), located an hour North of Lake Placid, has connections to and from Philadelphia, Dulles International, and connecting flights through American and United Airlines.

There is also nonstop service via Cape Air from Boston's Logan Airport (BOS) to Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK) in neighboring Saranac Lake. There, you can arrange for a car service pick-up, a taxi, or a car rental. The flight from Boston to Saranac Lake is approximately 90 minutes, and is a 20-minute drive to Lake Placid.

Lake Placid Airport (LKP) is located minutes from town and accommodates chartered flights, including small private or corporate aircraft. Railway access via Amtrak to Lake Placid is available from New York City, Albany, and Montreal. Adirondack Trailways offers bus service from New York City, Port Authority Terminal, and bus terminal points north, with drop-offs at Lake Placid and Saranac Lake — close to hotels, restaurants, and shops in both communities.
