You're in love with each other, you're engaged, and now it's time to think about the big, beautiful day. One of the biggest decisions you'll make is where to get married. I won’t try to kid you: Picking a wedding venue can be a tough decision. You want your day to be unforgettable, fun, and a celebration of your new beginning. As you think about what your wedding style is — indoor, outdoor, under a starry sky, mountaintop, quiet, or raucous — choosing the right venue will help you create that dream day, just the way you want it.

As a wedding destination, Lake Placid is sublime. The village has plenty of shops, restaurants, and activities to keep your guests on the go for days. Lake Placid weddings are far from ordinary, featuring utterly phenomenal views, providing you with a lush backdrop of stunning natural beauty. Imagine saying "I do" with a timeless scene of mountains and lakes behind you. Imagine celebrating on the actual top of a mountain. It's all possible here.

To help with this happy challenge of selecting a venue, and to make planning your wedding a treat, we’ve selected four Lake Placid wedding venues with fabulous views and why you just might fall in love with them, too.

Whiteface Club & Resort

At the Whiteface Club & Resort, on the site of one of Lake Placid's first historic hotels, comfortable elegance is the name of the game. Today, the club features a tennis center, an 18-hole golf course, two restaurants, and gorgeous, close-up views of Whiteface Mountain from the shores of Lake Placid lake. Tie the knot at the water's edge or in the midst of a rustic chic garden, followed by an indoor or outdoor reception with those same gorgeous views. This is a site all about classic beauty, giving off relaxed wedding vibes with a sense of timelessness.

Details: the Whiteface Club is available for weddings year-round for up to 250 guests, features a full service catering team, hotel accommodations at a nearby four-diamond sister resort and spa, and has an on-site wedding planner to help you with all the wonderful details of your happy day. On-site vacation rentals range from cozy cottages to chic luxury lodges.

Why we love it: the secluded historic site also offers a seven bedroom 1920s manor house as a vacation rental for the ultimate wedding week adventure.

Lake Placid Lodge

If you've ever daydreamed about a mountain wedding surrounded by chic luxury, Lake Placid Lodge is the place for you. A Relais & Chateau property, the lodge is Adirondack luxury to the max, and the wedding options are just as fabulous. Choose from a lakeside wedding — custom tent available — or a ceremony and reception on one of the lodge's porches featuring dynamite views and stone fireplaces. For something even more intimate, try an intimate wedding dinner in the lodge's wine cellar or turn the pub into your very own nightspot. Post-ceremony, you can even enjoy a quiet moment together in a ride on the lake in a classic Hacker-Craft wooden motorboat on Lake Placid.

Why we love it: the lodge's rustic elegance, from stone fireplaces to handcrafted twig-work chairs, makes for a dreamy atmosphere you might never want to leave.

Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort

For a wedding close to the action of the village of Lake Placid, including a fun nightlife and plenty of tasty restaurants, look no further than the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort, located on lively Mirror Lake. At the very eco-friendly Golden Arrow, try a ceremony on the upper deck of the resort's boathouse or under the arbor on the lawn by the lake, followed by a romantic spin around the lake. Inside, several private dining rooms offer wide-open views of Mirror Lake and the mountains beyond, a lovely spot for a happening celebration.

Why we love it: being downtown, with so many activities and events, makes for some Olympic-sized fun.

Whiteface Mountain

For adventure seekers or those looking for a decidedly unique wedding venue, the summit and slopes of Whiteface Mountain are a dream come true. In any season, at any time of day, the fifth-highest mountain in the state gives visitors stunning, 360-degree views of the High Peaks and other, no less stunning Adirondack mountain ranges, plus sparkling lakes and rivers. In summer, hike or drive up to the summit, where a stone castle awaits. In winter, ride ski gondolas up the mountain for a slope-side ceremony. Have your reception on the mountain at a lodge or the castle, or hop into town for a party at one of Lake Placid's famous Olympic sites.

Details: although specific locations and amenities vary by season, Whiteface is available for weddings year-round, with an experienced events team ready to help you plan, including assistance with catering, flowers, officiants, and more.

Why we love it: for the adventurous, or those with their heads in the clouds already, a summit wedding can't be beat.
