Why is it called Mid's Park?
The park is named after Mildred "Mid" Uihlein, who was instrumental in preserving the space as a public park. She loved Lake Placid dearly and generations of benefited from her efforts. The beautiful bandshell is named for Dr. Paul White, who created the Lake Placid Club Sinfonietta. The Lake Placid Sinfonietta performs in the bandshell at the park every summer in an evening concert series.
