Experience an authentic Adirondack tradition that lives on to this day. Mushers from the area gather across Mirror Lake, ready to take you on an exhilarating ride. If the ice isn’t thick enough, vendors will set up shop at the Horse Show Grounds. Regardless of where you ride, the rush is all the same! Feel the wind on your face as you race around Mirror Lake, pulled by an eight dog team! Bundle up in blankets provided in the sleigh, Learn about the intricacies of dog sledding, and enjoy a comfortable ride! Don’t forget to learn the dogs’ names of course.

Climb to new heights with the Skyride, a state of the art gondola that follows the length of the Olympic ski jumps! Catch breathtaking views as you climb to the top in a comfortable enclosed cabin, away from wicked winds that come with new heights. Your journey ends at the glass observation deck at the top of the jumps, offering pristine views of the surrounding mountains, the ski jumps, and of course, Lake Placid! While you’re up there, read all about these structures’ olympic history, and get just an idea of how olympians and competitive ski jumpers scale these behemoth ramps year after year.
