Lake Placid anticipates high visitation June 12–14 as several large events overlap.
June 14 — Lake Placid Marathon (expect traffic impacts) | 1,430 Registrants
June 12–20 — Porsche Parade (staff arrivals begin June 11) | 2,600+ Registered Attendees, 1,340+ cars (Largest in 70 year Porsche Parade history!)
June 13 & 14 — Finger Lakes Fury Basketball Tournament: Ballin' For Gold Shootout II
How to prepare
Businesses
Inform staff so they are prepared for higher traffic and limited parking.
Please note: Porsche Parade participants will be responsible for meals on their own.
Print out event schedules for reference (especially helpful for frontline and service staff).
Print out the Lake Placid Insider so you can answer questions about other happenings in town.
Residents
Expect delays when traveling through town and check traffic impacts so you can plan alternate routes accordingly.
There will be a higher demand on resources such as groceries. Plan to shop ahead.
