The Lake Placid Sinfonietta is the Adirondacks' Orchestra, unleashing the power of music to entertain, educate and inspire people of all ages.
Led by Music Director Stuart Malina, the Lake Placid Sinfonietta is a professional summer chamber orchestra of twenty top orchestral musicians from across the country. Originally a private Hotel Orchestra in 1917, the Sinfonietta is proud to have been a community supported non-profit for the last 40 years. Symphony Series Dates:
The Lake Placid Sinfonietta's annual Symphony Series is held at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.
- July 13 – Symphony Series: Color My World
- July 19 – Symphony Series: Fire and Rain
- July 27 – Symphony Series: Tapestry
- August 3 – Symphony Series: The Beat Goes On
- August 9 – Symphony Series: Moscow Nights
- August 17 – Symphony Series: All That Jazz!
Park Series
The Lake Placid Sinfonietta also offers free concerts in Mid's Park, where all are welcome to enjoy live classical music lakeside with scenic views. Concerts are held on Wednesdays, July 9-August 13, at 7:00 p.m. Check out the 2025 Park Series dates!
Adirondack Series
In addition to the Symphony and Park series, the Lake Placid Sinfonietta offers a selection of special concerts at alternate venues throughout the Adirondacks.
- July 18 – Children’s Concert at Saint Agnes School, Lake Placid
- July 24 – Tannery Pond Center, North Creek
- August 7 – Community Concert, Hotel Saranac, Saranac Lake
- August 14 – The Wild Center, Tupper Lake
