A large part of the daily duties in my position as events and communications manager is directing the flow of events listings to the proper websites and pages within those websites. I've discovered this time of year it can be a daunting task. Little did I know exactly how many events would be directed my way in late spring and early summer!
The range of events is simply hard to imagine for this rather large geographical area for which we are charged with promoting. From an intimate yoga class for 8 in Schroon Lake to the gigantic Ironman event in Lake Placid with 2,600 competitors, each event organizer deems their own event the most important. And indeed they are!

Our regional events this year kicked off with Saranac Lake's Daffest, now in its second year. At the end of the season, our big events wind it all down with Whiteface Mountain Oktoberfest at the end of September. At last check, between June 15 and October 15 a grand total of 2,157 events show up in our database for the region. A few are duplicated due to the complexities of the system, but rest assured that number isn't too far off the mark, and there is something for everyone. A sampling of our major regional events follows. For a complete list with the ability to break it down to date range and interests, or to look at the entire list, visit our events page. You're sure to find a few things you'll definitely not want to miss. Plan, participate and have fun!
