The 2023 Winter World University Games are coming to Lake Placid!

Lake Placid, NY is the proud host of the 2023 Winter World University Games, scheduled to take place January 12-22. For over sixty years, athletes from all around the world have participated in this festival combining athletics, global culture, and community into one incredible event. Athletes have to be between the ages of 17 - 25 to be eligible to participate; many have gone on to earn a spot at the Winter Olympics. This is not the first time Lake Placid has been home to the Winter World Games. The region hosted the 1972 games, as well. The 2023 Winter World Games will be held at various locations throughout the Lake Placid region and neighboring communities
