Spectator Information & Viewing Tips

Watching a National Championship in an Olympic venue is a world-class experience. Most competition viewing is free of charge for spectators, though lift tickets or trail passes are required if you plan to ski or ride yourself.

Where to Watch: Whiteface Mountain (Alpine, SB, FS)

  • The Base Area: The finish arena for Slalom and Giant Slalom is visible right from the Base Lodge deck. It’s the best spot to catch the high-energy finish and hear the announcers.

  • Mid-Mountain: For a closer look at the speed events, take the Face Lift chair to the mid-station. The new mid-mountain lodge offers great views and a warm place to grab a snack between runs.

  • The "Cloudsplitter" Gondola: Take a scenic ride to the top of Little Whiteface for a breathtaking view of the course starts and the High Peaks.

Where to Watch: Mt Van Hoevenberg (Nordic)

  • The Stadium Area: The cross-country events start and finish in the main stadium, right behind the Mountain Pass Lodge. This is the heart of the action for sprints and mass starts.

  • The Bridge & Viewing Plazas: Recently upgraded spectator plazas and bridges offer "birds-eye" views of the technical climbs and high-speed descents.

  • Mountain Pass Lodge: If it gets chilly, the lodge features massive glass windows and indoor seating that overlook the Nordic stadium.
