About

Nature Journaling for Families at High Meadow Preserve

Explore your creative instincts while sharpening observational skills and spending time outdoors on this family-friendly, all-ages nature journaling field trip. Those under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Thea Duane, the Adirondack Land Trust’s environmental education intern, will lead the group over trails on flat terrain at High Meadow Preserve, a protected natural area not yet open to the public. As you meander through wildflower meadows and shady forests, you’ll pause to sketch, write, make leaf rubbings, press plants, take photos, and try new ways to record outdoor experiences.

Blank journals, pencils, and crayons will be provided; you are also welcome to bring your own writing and drawing materials. This trip is free, open to all, and limited to 15 participants. Registration is required, and each participant must register separately.
