Summer Reading Programming at the Lake Placid Library

All programs are free and open to the public.

Fridays with Ms. Linda

Join Ms. Linda on Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the children's room for stories, songs, and activities all summer long,

July 11 – Special guest "Riverjack Z" will join Ms. Linda's storytime (geared to children in Pre-K).

(Ages 3 and up)

Readers' Theater Performance: "So Tortoise Dug" by Emmy Kastner with Eloise, Henri, Will, and Taika. Extension activities and special treats after the performance.

Meet author Veronic Salazar. Listen to her story in Spanish and English, then learn a traditional craft from Margarita Island.

Color Our World with Flowers: A read-aloud, discussion with a floral designer, and hands-on activities. Children will create a centerpiece to take home.

Colors of Camouflage with the Pont Au Roche State Park Nature Center. Join a NYS Parks Environmental Educator to explore ways animals use camouflage to hide. Children will make their own camouflage and play hide-and-seek.

Tuesday, July 29 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

(For all ages)

Colors of the Wild with the Vermont Museum of Natural History. Explore the difference in animals' visual experiences and how plants and animals make use of sight and color with live animals!
