Paving on Route 73

Starting August 4, 2025*, NYSDOT will be milling and paving Route 73, with alternating traffic controlled by flaggers. The project will be on Route 73 from just south of Mt Van Hoevenberg Olympic Bobsled Run Road, past River Road, past the Ski Jumps, past the Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds, to just north of Recycle Circle Lane (near the Lake Placid Airport).

Route 73 will be production milled first along a portion of the project, from River Road to Liberty Lane (just north of Recycle Circle Lane). Then the entire 5.6 mile project length will be paved.

Expect lane closures and delays Monday through Friday for approximately four weeks, weather dependent.
