The guided walks are family-friendly and participants can choose either a one- or two-mile walk. Park around the traffic circle and meet at the barn in the visitor center. No registration required but more details are available at 518-806-9719.
These hikes are offered as part of a collaborative effort with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks), the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), and the Canal Corporation. New Yorkers are invited to kick off 2026 by participating in one of the many hikes being held at state parks, historic sites, wildlife areas, trails, and public lands across the Empire State. All of these hikes are free and open to the public.
