Adirondack Mountain Club Free Naturalist Series: Learn to Build Snow Shelters

February 16, 1-3:00 p.m.

Immerse yourself in the surprisingly warm world of snow! Learn about different snow shelters built by animals and humans from an ADK naturalist. Then get hands-on as we work collaboratively to build a quinzhee snow shelter of our own.

To recreate responsibly, we will wear snowshoes if there is enough snow on the ground; otherwise, we will use micro spikes. Both snowshoes and micro spikes will be available to borrow. In addition, please dress appropriately for playing outside in the snow!

This program is designed with children and families in mind, but anyone is welcome. Children must be supervised.

Please register each participant individually so that the instructor can prepare appropriately.
