ADK Mountain Club Guided Winter Hike: Hurricane Mountain
Registration is required. Health insurance is also required to participate in the program.
This program is a guided day hike to Hurricane Mountain (elevation 3,694, 6.8 miles round-trip with approximately 2,000' of elevation gain). Please plan on arriving at the Hurricane Mountain trailhead along Route 9N between Keene and Elizabethtown at 7:30am. The trailhead is on the north side of the road, 3.5 miles east of the Route 73 and Route 9N junction. After introductions and a trip overview, we’ll embark on our journey to this fire tower summit. The trip will be led by ADK’s Education Department staff.
Prior snowshoeing experience is highly recommended. Good physical condition, proper winter clothing, and proper equipment are a must.
