Celebrate the Fourth of July in Lake Placid

In Lake Placid, Independence Day is celebrated all day long and into the evening! 

4th of July Parade  

Ending the afternoon every year is Lake Placid's Fourth of July gala parade, starting at 5 p.m. With lots of local civic groups, businesses, and individuals, the parade has grown into a great crowd pleaser!

The parade begins at The Post Office and goes down Main Street, ending at Saranac Avenue (High Peaks Resort).

Friday Night Ice Show: Red, White, and Blue for America 250

Celebrate America 250 with a red, white and blue themed Friday Night Ice Show at the Olympic Center on July 3. Featuring Team USA 2026 Olympians Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko, skaters are hitting the ice in dazzling performances for the crowd.

Performance begins at 7:30pm, July 3 in the 1932 Rink.

Live Music in Mid's Park:

1-4pm Bluegrass Music with "Nubble"

7 pm- Lake Placid Sinfonetta-Admission is free to this lakeside concert sponsored by Champlain National Bank, which will feature an hour of classical pops performed by the Lake Placid Sinfonietta! Bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the music with the best view in town! In the event of rain or temperatures below 65, the concert will be moved to the sanctuary of St. Agnes Church on Saranac Ave. in Lake Placid. Rainsite concerts will begin at 7:15.

Free Fourth of July Ski Jumping Exhibition

Celebrate Independence Day with an afternoon at the Olympic Jumping Complex! Stop by from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a free ski jumping exhibition featuring athletes training on the Normal Hill (HS120). While this isn’t a formal competition, it’s a unique opportunity to watch the sport up close and see ski jumpers in action.

Throughout the exhibition, our emcees will keep the energy high with music, ski jumping trivia, giveaways, and prizes between jumps. Whether you’re a longtime fan or experiencing ski jumping for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Make a day of it by taking a ride on the Skyride Gondola, soaring on the Sky Flyer Zipline, and exploring our iconic Olympic venue.

Fireworks over Mirror Lake

Topping off the day is Lake Placid's legendary Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza, Set the Night to Music. The fireworks show, which begins at 9:30 p.m., is choreographed to music. Hear the official soundtrack live on 93.3/102.1 - LAKEfm and 105.5/95.3 FM - Adirondack 105.

Along with these major Independence Day events, there are lots of other events going on around the area. Come find out why Lake Placid's celebration draws thousands of visitors every year!

Helpful hints: Bring a blanket or a lawn chair for the fireworks show. Great places to watch are Mirror Lake Public beach area and the large hill looking over Main Street. Order a pizza and enjoy the show!
