The Adirondack Climbers’ Coalition Legacy Speaker Series presents Don Mellor, who will share stories and experiences from 47 years of climbing in the Adirondacks. Mellor has established numerous first ascents on rock and ice, written guidebooks to the region, and been an active part of the Adirondack climbing community for decades.

Admission: $5 suggested donation
Payment: Cash only; exact change preferred
BYOB and folding lawn chairs are welcome. A raffle will offer climbing gear from Sterling Rope, Blue Ice, and Metolius, with $20 buying an arm’s length of raffle tickets.
Attendees can also take part in a challenge to climb as many pitches from Don Mellor’s first ascents as possible on October 24. Climbers may lead, top rope, or follow, but must reach the top for the pitch to count. Each guidebook pitch can only be counted once, with a Mammut climbing rope awarded to the person who completes the most pitches.
Parking: Onsite at The Mountaineer, along the west shoulder of Route 73, at Mountaineer Downstream, or in the public parking lot next to Valley Grocery. Do not park in the field beyond the delineators.
All proceeds from the event will support the Adirondack Climbers’ Coalition, a completely volunteer organization.
