The rumors are true! The Toboggan Chute received a makeover, and now it's open for business!
Open only in the winter, this 30-foot high converted ski jump trestle sends toboggans down an ice-covered chute onto frozen Mirror Lake. Depending on weather conditions, toboggans can travel more than 1,000 feet once they reach the frozen lake surface. To ensure the safety of riders, only one sled is sent down at a time.
Hours vary depending on weather conditions. Contact the Lake Placid Visitors Center for more information at (518) 523-2445.
