The Gosling's Nest is a cozy, dog-friendly classic A-frame chalet near Lake Placid and Whiteface Mountain (11 miles), located in Jay, NY. We are close enough to town to spend plenty of time exploring while still truly enjoying a relaxing mountain escape at our secluded Adirondack camp! Well- behaved dogs are considered and the house is adventurer-friendly with a large downstairs mud room, perfect for all of your non-motorized gear! Ski, hike, bike, kayak, fish, hunt...whatever you prefer!

Our Adirondack chalet offers two bedrooms with a king bed (top floor, along with full bath) in each and on the main floor there is another full  bath, two bedrooms with two twins in each and one 52" long mattress stored under a twin bed for a child to use. There is a (twin-size mattresses) bunk bed with trundle on the first floor and brand new full size sleeper sofa in the living room (main floor). So, in total, the house sleeps 13 adults and one child. The mattresses and encasements, pillows and encasements, sheets and blankets are also brand new! There are brand new appliances: microwave, toaster, dishwasher, oven. There are plenty of pots and pans, a coffee maker, full-size fridge, and eating space for 16 (12 at the HUGE farmhouse table and four on stools (with backs) at the kitchen counter. One of our FAVORITE features of The Goslings' Nest is the HUGE floor to ceiling river rock fireplace, with a hearth deep enough to sit on while you enjoy some tea or chat with friends. The house has a full size washer and dryer as well. Please note, there are spiral staircases to get upstairs. 

This is the perfect space to disconnect, slow down and enjoy the forest with friends and family. However, the high speed Wifi (100 Mbps) and Roku t.v. also provide you with all you need to work from 'home'.

You can do as much or as little as your like with our cozy cabin as your home base. The house comes fully stocked with books and games and you can find hundreds of hiking possibilities just minutes away, not to mention Lake Placid Olympic sites, Ausable Chasm, the Wolf Sanctuary, and more! We love chatting with our guests beforehand and are happy to make recommendations based on what you are interested in.
