Skate America returns to the Olympic village for the Thanksgiving holiday from November 24-26. The world will be watching this spectacular skating exhibition sponsored by Smucker’s. Sixty world-class athletes with dreams of becoming future olympians will be competing in Lake Placid’s 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.
Be sure to come out and cheer on Team USA as they compete at World Cup Luge on their way to the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang. The World Cup Games continue with additional events in Para-Bobsleigh, Aerials, and Bobsled and Skeleton.
Empire State Winter Games, ECAC Hockey, and Lake Placid Loppet highlight some of the other exciting cold-weather sporting events here in Lake Placid. This Olympic year, we welcome these games, along with many others, in the spirit of the 1932 and 1980 Olympic games which were hosted in Lake Placid.
