Events in Lake Placid

In Lake Placid, the fun doesn't end when you leave the trail. On any given day, you might find wine tastings, live music, educational workshops, sporting events, art openings, theatre productions, festivals, or farmers markets.

Lake Placid will host the 6th annual Lake Placid Brewer’s festival, considered the premiere brewfest in the Adirondack Mountains. The event takes place in the 1932 rink at the Olympic Center on September 23.  Make sure to come sample some of the best brew in the Adirondacks!

The Lake Placid Classic Half Marathon and 10K continues in its 47th year with a fast-paced, brisk run through the beautiful village on October 7. This friendly event is a great way to see the fall foliage and beauty of our quaint village.

A local fall favorite is the Flaming Leaves Festival. The event will take place on October 7 & 8 and has family-friendly action for all ages: corn mazes, beer tents, BBQ, wine and cheese, a trip up the chairlift to the famous 120-meter ski jumps, and more. Watch North Americas top jumpers compete while you enjoy the sounds of a live band. The spectacular colors and the beauty of the season are inspiring from this location.

A quick, scenic trip to the Whiteface Region will land you at the mountain's annual Oktoberfest. Enjoy an authentic Oktoberfest complete with beer, bratwurst, German music, and fun for the entire family. Don't miss this opportunity to take a Gondola ride to the top of Whiteface for amazing views and color.

Skate America returns to the Olympic village for from November 23-26. The world will be watching this spectacular skating exhibition sponsored by Smucker’s. Sixty world-class athletes with dreams of becoming future olympians will be competing in Lake Placid’s 1980 Herb Brooks Arena.
