Events in Lake Placid
Events in Lake Placid for the Whole Family
The lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are here and events have tapered off a bit - at least the major events. There are still a lot of great cultural and family events on a smaller scale happening during August and September. Events you can join in and take in while relaxing with the family.
The Lake Placid Center for the Arts has many events on the August calendar to help satisfy some of your cultural desires. From The Met Live in HD Encores, to the Wednesday Young & Fun Series for kids, there’s something going on most every day of the week at LPCA. If there isn’t an event happening, the art gallery is open for browsing Tuesday through Sunday afternoons from 1 - 5.
The Lake Placid History Museum will feature Heritage Day on Saturday, August 16 and local artisans will be center stage at Salute to Arts Day on Wednesday, August 20 at the expanded Lake Placid Farmers Market.
The Great Outdoors
There are guided hikes and free Saturday night lectures or entertainment at Adirondack Loj, in addition to their wide array of naturalist programs, also free.
It’s not too early to look ahead to the fall events either. The Lake Placid Classic Half Marathon, Artist at Work Studio Tour, Essex County Cheese Tour, Oktoberfest and Beer Fest, all taking place in September and October.
