Mid's Park is a Lake Placid favorite, for visitors and residents alike! A beautiful, green, open space, Mid's Park has spectacular views of Mirror Lake and the surrounding mountains. This is a sweet spot to take a moment to enjoy the views, savor a slice of pizza, an ice cream, or build a snowman!

Year-round activity

No matter what time of year, Mid's Park is a favorite location for events, particularly at the bandshell, from holiday events in winter to the popular Songs at Mirror Lake concert series in the summer. Summer events may be enjoyed from the land or from the water; paddling to the park for concerts is a local favorite!

During special events, Mid's Park is a hub of excitement; you're apt to find bobsleds to sit in, marshmallows to toast, and even athletes to meet and snap selfies with!

Why is it called Mid's Park?

The park is named after Mildred "Mid" Uihlein, who was instrumental in preserving the space as a public park. She loved Lake Placid dearly and generations of benefited from her efforts. The beautiful bandshell is named for Dr. Paul White, who created the Lake Placid Club Sinfonietta. The Lake Placid Sinfonietta performs in the bandshell at the park every summer in an evening concert series.
