Every winter, Mid's Park in downtown Lake Placid becomes a prime spot for celebrations. During the holidays, the park comes alive with songs, a tree lighting, and family friendly activities. After the New Year, look out for the Empire State Winter Games skating races on Mirror Lake, which begin and end at Mid's Park.
In 2016 and 2017, be sure to check out the park's Cool Globes — they're part of a public art exhibition launched to raise awareness on climate change. The 12 large, unique sculptures have traveled the world and will be on display in Lake Placid through the winter. Explore the town and find them all!
And when nothing else is going on, Mirror Lake is a great place to enjoy a view of the High Peaks from the shore of Mirror Lake!
