The 11th annual Holiday Village Stroll will look a little different this year, but don’t let that dampen your holiday spirit! Join us in Lake Placid, in person or virtually, as we host the 2020 Holiday Village Stroll on December 11-13.

Virtual events, a socially distanced scavenger hunt, and lots of shopping are all planned for the big weekend. We will be following the recommended health guidelines including social distancing and wearing face masks, while still making sure to offer plenty of festive cheer. We also heard a rumor that Santa has a special message for all the good little girls and boys in Lake Placid! 

Virtual Jingle Bell Run

It wouldn’t be the Stroll Weekend without the Jingle Bell Run. Run for a great cause wherever you are! This year, the Jingle Bell Run will be virtually and can be done anytime from December 11-13. Proceeds from the race will go to the WIC of Essex County for Christmas Fund and for Fit for Life. The first 100 people to sign up will receive a red logo’d face shield. And as always, don’t forget to dress up in your favorite festive costumes! Share your Jingle Bell Run costumes with us on Facebook.

 

Holiday Craft Kits

While we aren’t able to do holiday crafts in person, we’re not letting that stop us from spreading the holiday glitter... I mean cheer! For this year, you can pick up your holiday craft kits at the visitors bureau in Lake Placid and take them home to do as a family. They will also be available at select hotels for those of you who have traveled to Lake Placid. The kits will include all materials you will need, and instructions to do these at home! If you’re not able to pick one up, we will have the supply list and instructions posted on our website. 

 

Bedtime Story Time

Story time is a whole lot comfier this year! Join us on Saturday, December 12 as we host a live bedtime story time on our Facebook page. Put on your favorite Christmas pajamas, grab your favorite snack, and gather around to listen to a special holiday story reading. We don’t want to ruin any surprises too early, so follow us along on social media for all the details! 

Scavenger Hunt

Head down to Main Street Lake Placid to participate in a new scavenger hunt! Download the form online or pick it up at one of the main stores on Main Street. While you’re out and about, check out all the shopping specials there will be during Stroll weekend! Hunt for holiday images for a chance to win a gift basket and get some shopping done at the same time! When you’re done, warm up at one of the many restaurants that will be open in town.

 

Commemorative Ornaments 

We would never miss a year for the Holiday Village Stroll commemorative ornaments! These will be on sale in Lake Placid during Stroll weekend. Check out the Facebook page for more information and a sneak peak of the 2020 ornaments. What do you think it will be this year? A snowman? Santa hat? Stay tuned! 

Santa Claus! 

A little bird told us that Santa Claus was coming to Lake Placid again this year! And he won’t only be going down Main Street in a fire truck. The details are still being worked out, since he is such a busy man, but Santa will be all around Lake Placid in a fire truck! Once the schedule is confirmed, we will post it on the Facebook page and on the website.
