Fall is kicking into high gear here in the Adirondacks and we've got fall events that'll make you want to kick up your heels and some that'll help you sit back and relax.

Two of our much anticipated events take place in the Whiteface Region.  The 36th Annual Whiteface Mountain Uphill Foot Race takes place on Saturday the 14th  on the same day as the Wilmington Festival of the Colors.

For some foot stompin' bluegrass music, don't miss the ever growing Otis Mountain Get Down in Elizabethtown on September 14th also. The festival features top notch bluegrass intertwined with acts of all genres, with some awesome local talent.  Stop in, make some new friends and have fun with the Otis family!

While you're traveling between events, take a peek and see how much color you can see in the hills. The leaves are beginning their fall transformation!

At Fort Ticonderoga on the 14th and 15th, the popular Brown's Raid Re-enactment is a must see. In this two day battle re-enactment, experience this determined American raid on the British outpost in an old French Fort!I

In the Saranac Lake Region, the Visitor Interpretive Center at Paul Smiths will feature one of their more popular events also on the 14th. The Teddy Roosevelt Bird Walk takes place that day. Join ornithologist Brian McAllister and get a look at some of the same birds identified by a young Teddy Roosevelt when he visited Paul Smiths in the 1870s. Registering the day prior is a must.  Also for birders, in the Schroon Lake Region the Audubon Society is sponsoring the Northern New York Audubon Bird Walk in privately-owned Huntington Wildlife Forest.  Led by Northern New York Audubon member Charlotte Demers, come search and listen for birds along this beautiful 3 mile walk.  Please call or email to register.

There are lots more events in the region you'll want to check out on our calendar. Get out and join in the fun this weekend!
