A 6-million acre playground

Explore the Adirondacks — from the top of New York's 46 highest peaks, to the shore of Lake Champlain and the hundreds of miles of wilderness in between. This is an area full of remote hiking trails, old growth forests, endless lakes and serene waterways, all within reach.

The High Peaks Region consists of the historic Adirondack vacation destinations of Lake Placid, Keene and Saranac Lake, along with the a variety of events and festivals, natural attractions, and abundant outdoor activities.

Further afield but not too far away, there's fly fishing in the Ausable River in the Whiteface Region (also the "Biking Capital of the Adirondacks"), New York's Adirondack Coast of Lake Champlain where American Revolution battles were waged, and the Adirondack Hub's thriving arts community set between large wilderness tracts.

An unforgettable experience

Lake Placid and the High Peaks region are naturally beautiful and full of adventure, talented local artists, chefs, and brewers, and ample space to get out and enjoy the peace of exploring the outdoors.
