The Ganslers share their experience on Ampersand, Phelps and more!
Lake Placid is sheltered by the beautiful and vast protected wilderness of the Adirondacks, and the unspoiled nature of this region has attracted visitors for decades.
This pristine environment is sustained by limited development - also resulting in somewhat limited traditional commercial transportation, making Lake Placid a largely drive-to destination.
However, airports are located within less than a two-hour drive, Amtrak goes right through the region, and scenic automobile byways make getting here half the fun! (And if you drive a hybrid vehicle to Lake Placid, we'll award you with a gold medal. Well; gold in color:)
Below find a list of local travel services to get you to, from, and around during your perfect visit to the Adirondacks!
