LAKE PLACID, NY – The New York State Snowmobile Association (NYSSA) will host their Educational Forum and Annual Meeting April 20 – 22 in Lake Placid, New York. Delegates, presenters, and vendors from across the state will convene for meetings and educational seminars pertaining to safety, trails, club operations and public affairs.

"Lake Placid provides us with tremendous facilities to culminate our 2011-2012 snowmobile season with the Annual Forum and Meeting," said Dominic Jacangelo, Executive Director of NYSSA. "This year is extra special as we will unveil results of the economic impact survey we completed in conjunction with the SUNY Potsdam Institute of Applied Research. Previously completed in 1998 and 2003, this survey will provide an economic assessment of the contribution of snowmobiling to the New York State economy.

On Friday, April 20th, NYSSA members are able to take educational sessions that include First Aid & CPR, Defensive Driving, DEC's Chainsaw Safety and NYS Groomer Operator & Safety Training. A social event will be held that evening for all arriving NYSSA members. The Educational Forum on Saturday, April 21st features classes throughout the day including a budget presentation, PR 101 and the NYSSA Awards Luncheon.

"Lake Placid, with its deep ties to winter sports, is the perfect location for our Annual Forum and Meeting," said Gary Broderick, President of NYSSA. "I look forward to seeing all of our members who are traveling to participate in our biggest event of the year."

James McKenna, President and CEO of the Lake Placid CVB/Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism said, "The NYSSA Annual Forum and Meeting will be one of Lake Placid's highlight weekends of the year. We are looking forward to the number of guests that will be visiting Lake Placid, providing our local economy a significant boost."

The New York State Snowmobile Association (NYSSA), a non-profit corporation, is the largest snowmobile association in the country working on behalf of the 135,000 registered NY snowmobile owners, who contribute approximately $1 billion to the New York economy, and 240 snowmobile clubs to improve trails, facilities and services for participants, and defend snowmobilers against discriminatory legislation.
