Whiteface Mountain Chair Lift
Skiing at Whiteface Mountain
The ski season may have started out slow but we are now fired up for even more chances to get to Whiteface and put our gear to the test. Though I am not the strongest skier in the family, I can make it down. It just may not look pretty. My children still wait patiently for me at the end of each run. Soon they will be off with their friends so I am grateful for the time I have.

Mother Nature has been keeping us on our toes so we want to make sure we are out on the trails enjoying the new snow. She is finicky so we will take advantage of Whiteface having 8 lifts and 82 trails open.

Whiteface View of High Peaks
Views of the Adirondack High Peaks from Whiteface
The view at Whiteface is what takes my breath away (or perhaps getting on a black diamond at the urging of my eight-year-old). From the top of the Gondola the view of the High Peaks is inspiring. Even the view of the Jay Range from the bottom of Face Lift makes me appreciate being in the Adirondacks.

There were even eager souls who braved the double black diamond "The Slides". I stuck to my favorite green circles and blue squares and took my lunch break while my more experienced family members took to the higher elevations.

For those not interested in skiing, take a Cloudsplitter Gondola ride to the top of Little Whiteface. Call ahead though, due to weather conditions the Gondola does not always run.

If you are looking for a bargain there are two more Super Sundays at Whiteface, March 11 and April 1. Lift tickets for those select daysare $35/adults, $30/teens and $25/juniors. In addition there are always fun events, scavenger hunts for prizes, food and live entertainment.

Don't forget that the Mountain Valley Shuttle will continue to run skiers and riders to Whiteface through March 18 so parking doesn't have to even be a thought.
