Lake Placid, NY: The Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LPCA) will light up the holidays with a special presentation of Lightwire Theater’s A Very Electric Christmas. The performance, which takes place live on stage, but in complete darkness, will take place on Wednesday, December 19 at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets are available by calling the LPCA Box Office at 518.523.2512 or online at LakePlacidArts.org.

Audiences of all ages will treasure this magical and captivating tale of family, friendship and hope set to timeless holiday hits including Nat King Cole, Mariah Carey, Tchaikovsky and of course a few surprises along the way.

Performed in complete darkness, this creative storyline features Nutcracker soldiers with candy-canes, naughty rats, an electric Christmas tree surrounded by presents, glow worms, dancing flowers and other creatures that light up the stage. This captivating and magical tale of adventure, friendship and love centers around a young bird named Max who gets separated from his parents while flying south for the winter. The show brings a whole new meaning to coming “home for the holidays.”

Lightwire Theater has illuminated the LPCA stage with "A Very Electric Christmas" for the past several years, offering a fun way for families to spend time together and create a new holiday tradition.

About Lightwire Theater

Lightwire Theater has been featured as semi-finalists on NBC's America’s Got Talent and winners of Tru TV's Fake Off. The group combines theater and technology to bring stories to life in complete darkness and are internationally recognized for their signature brand of electroluminescent artistry.

Lightwire co-creators Ian Carney and Corbin Popp met in New York City while dancing in Twyla Tharp's Movin' Out on Broadway. An immediate connection was made between the kindred spirits as they discovered their mutual love of art, theater and technology. After coming across a product called, “el wire,” the lights turned on and the possibilities seemed endless. Together, with their wives Eleanor and Whitney, they began to experiment with shapes and designs to develop puppetry-based neon creatures that quickly came to life.

Based in New Orleans, Lightwire Theater continues to create and deliver innovative theatrical experiences to audiences worldwide including: Hong Kong, Estonia, Canada, Belarus, China, Abu Dhabi, and as finalists on My TF1’s, The Best Le Meilleur Artiste in Paris.
