Renzi Foodservice Gives Back to Local Communities

Lake Placid, NY— In its fourth year in Lake Placid, The Renzi Food Show on April 10 brought over 1,500 visitors to the greater Lake Placid community.

Held at the Conference Center at Lake Placid, the show not only helped spur the local economy by generating overnight stays and Main Street foot traffic in a shoulder season, but it also provided local families and organizations with donations of food.

After the show wrapped up, perishable and nonperishable food items were donated to the Lake Placid Community Lunch Program, Mountain Lakes Services and Mountain Lakes Academy.

“We have a belief at Renzi that families come first, and this includes the families that are embedded within the communities we serve,” said JoAnne Renzi Wise, marketing and community relations director at Renzi Foodservice. “We are happy that the donation from our Food Show was able to provide hundreds of nutritious meals for families in need throughout Lake Placid.”

As a Northern New York-based company, giving back to upstate communities is a fundamental part of Renzi Foodservice’s values and operating philosophy. In 2014, Renzi launched the Renzi Charitable Foundation in partnership with the Northern New York Community Foundation to formalize its community reinvestment efforts in support of nonprofit organizations and schools.

Those attending the food show included representatives from restaurants, hotels, pubs, and food outlets from across New York State. Renzi Foodservice is one of the largest family owned and operated independent broadline foodservice distributors in Upstate and Central New York.

“Many conference groups build strong relationships here and Renzi Foodservice is an outstanding example of how a company fosters deeper connections with the community,” said Sarah Wheeler, Director of Sales for the Conference Center at Lake Placid. “We are grateful to have them as part of our conference partnerships.”
