LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Celebrate the fall season during the annual Flaming Leaves Festival, taking place at the Olympic Jumping Complex, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 9-10.

There are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy including live Blues, great barbeque food, lawn games for kids and adults, horseshoe tournament, make your own tie dye t-shirt (bring your own shirt or buy one there), craft vendors and some of the country's best ski jumpers flying off the 90-meter ski jump.

This year's festival will also play host to the second event in the 2010 Art Devlin Cup series. Peter Frenette (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) enters the competition as the leader in the chase for the prestigious cup after winning the July 4th jump. He'll face-off against more of the country's best jumpers during Saturday's, Oct. 9, competition. The first round is scheduled for noon, while the second round is slated for 1 p.m.

On Sunday, Oct. 10, more jumpers will take to the air off the 90-meter hill during the New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) event. The first round will be held at noon, while the second round will take place at 1 p.m.

The Blues begins at noon, Saturday, when Plattsburgh's own - Lucid takes to the Olympic Jumping Complex stage for their first of two sets, noon-1 p.m. and 2-3 p.m. Saturday's Blues line-up also features Roadside Mystic, hailing from Keene Valley, who will play from 1-2 p.m. and 3-4 p.m. On Sunday, it's Collette and the Mudcats, from Saratoga, and Splitrock's turn. Collette and the Mudcats first set is from noon-1 p.m. and then their back from 2-3 p.m. Lake Placid's own, Splitrock will entertain the crowd from 1-2 p.m. and 3-4p.m.

Visitors can also take the chairlift to the base of the120-meter jump, and a 26-story elevator ride will take them to the top of the jump to an overlook to the Adirondack's high peaks, in every direction, and in their full color, bright red, orange and yellow.

The annual Flaming Leaves Festival is from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. both days and admission is $15 for adults and $9 for juniors and seniors. Two-day passes are also available, $25 for adults and $15 for juniors and seniors, while the Olympic Sites Passport will also be honored for admission.
