Located on a working farm, The Eileen Rockefeller House (RockE House) offers families easy access to ample outdoor recreation on-site and in the surrounding area. Situated on 250 acres in the High Peaks Wilderness, time together with extended family and friends is deepened through shared meals and a shared home; time in nature; opportunities for experiential learning and art; and through meaningful work on the farm and working forest. The RockE House is located on Round Lake and is part of the North Country School and Camp Treetops, an educational nonprofit organization.
There are nine bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms, accommodating up to 24. Among the bedrooms, there are four private rooms with double beds, two private rooms with king-size beds, and three shared rooms with bunk and/or twin beds.
The base rate of $1,000 / night includes a caretaker/concierge who can help with farm to table recipes and other kitchen duties as well as point guests in the right direction for self-guided activities. The property also includes six canoes, two kayaks, one stand-up paddleboard, one sunfish sailboat, and one two-person paddleboat available for guests to use on Round Lake. Life jackets and paddles are also included.
The Program (optional)
For an additional fee, guests can build their own program around their stay, with adirondack guides available for leading daily activities, a housekeeper, and chef available for daily meals. Each afternoon, the chef prepares appetizers, followed by a full dinner. Ingredients for breakfast and lunch are provided in the fully-equipped kitchen. Should guests wish for the services of the chef for all meals of the day, it is available at a small extra cost.
