This destination lies off any developed and mapped trail system; the use and understanding of GPS and/or map and compass is highly recommended. When traveling off-trail you will experience hazards not realized on a trail, expect more difficult and varying conditions and always lean toward safety as a priority.
Primary Trailhead: From the intersection of Route 73 and Route 9N in Keene, follow Route 9N toward Elizabethtown. Continue to the Hurricane Mountain Trailhead on the left, parking is on the right.
While most off-trail travel is not recommended for kids or inexperience hikers this attractive waterfall is a very easy find. From the Hurricane Mountain Trailhead; start to walk east along Route 9N toward Elizabethtown. After about 0.2 miles you will come to the brook on your right that drains Knoblock Mountain. It is quite easy to locate.
Cross the drainage along the roadside and enter the woods having the brook to your left. Keep the brook close on your left and follow a developing herd path to the base of the falls. It is not recommended to climb up along the falls unless you are very experienced. The terrain along the falls is very unstable, slippery and steep. From the near the top of the layered falls there are decent views of Hurricane Mountain to the north.
