Celebrate the Fourth of July in Lake Placid

In Lake Placid, the Fourth of July is celebrated all day long and into the evening!

Start your day with a free children's concert

Join Jazzy Ash & the Leaping Lizards in Mid's Park at 10:30 a.m. to hear live ukulele, guitar, banjo, accordion, fiddle, bass, trombone, sax, washboard, and drums! Every musician in the band is also a professional music educator. That means kids get to dance and learn all about New Orleans music and culture, all at the same time.

4th of July parade

Ending the afternoon every year is Lake Placid's Fourth of July gala parade, starting at 5 p.m. With marching bands and lots of local civic groups, businesses and individuals, the parade has grown into a great crowd pleaser!

Live entertainment in Mid’s Park

This year, the Lake Placid Sinfonietta park concert series will be performing a program full of patriotic pieces! Starting at 7 p.m. at the Mid's Park bandshell, you'll hear songs like the Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful, the Cole Porter Salte, and many more. Grab your seat early and stick around after the show for the July 4th fireworks.

Fireworks over Mirror Lake

Topping off the day is Lake Placid's legendary Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza, Set the Night to Music. The fireworks show, which begins at 9:30 p.m., is choreographed to music broadcast on local radio station 93.3 FM WSLP.

Along with these major Independence Day events, there are lots of other events going on around the area. Come find out why Lake Placid's celebration draws thousands of visitors every year!

Thanks to this year's fireworks sponsors!
