Trail Closures

Due to the recent Halloween storm, which brought damaging winds and floods to much of northern New York, the state Department of Environmental Conservation has announced that some trails, parking areas, and access roads are closed due to damage, wash-outs, or blow-down. Check here for more information on specific closures.

Hiking

Route Overview

From the trailhead you will hike a wonderful trail through a lush forest rife with greens and step ledges. The rocky terrain makes it fun as you approach a most lovely backcountry pond.

The trail will bring you to the north end of the pond, where it is obvious from the rhododendrons that a homestead was once here.
