Brewed in the ADK
Craving some craft beer? We've got you covered. Lake Placid is home to three breweries! With so many distinct flavors being created right here in the High Peaks, you're sure to find the perfect brew for everyone in your crew.
Beer trips for brew lovers are all the rage, and it's time to put the Adirondacks on your list — if you haven't already! Lake Placid and the area around it has seen a growing beer scene in recent years.
The Lake Placid Pub and Brewery is the old favorite with its popular and well-known Ubu — which was a favorite of Bill Clinton's — and Great Adirondack Brewing has been winning awards for its creative brews for years.
In 2016 we saw the addition of Big Slide Brewery & Public House, which focuses on pushing the envelope of beer styles. With 10 beers on tap, they dabble in a wide variety of styles, with a wall of wooden barrels in the middle of the bar where house beers soak up the flavor of liquors or wines, and they have a separate fermentation room called the Funk Room, designed specifically for sour and wild-fermented beers such as Berliner weisse, gose, and lambic beers.
