The Mountaineer is excited to host the 10th Annual Great Adirondack Trail Run on June 14, 2014 in Keene Valley, New York! This charity event supports the Ausable and Boquet River Associations, provides an educational opportunity for children and adults to learn about our sensitive river ecosystems and gives our guests and locals alike a chance to enjoy the mountains, get some exercise and celebrate spring and black fly season before the summer arrives and the trails get busy.

There are two runs: an 11.5 mile strenuous run up the back side of Hopkins Mountain and down to Keene Valley, and a 3.5 mile “fun run” which travels from Baxter Mountain Tavern to Keene Valley.  Note: at this time, the 11.5 mile run is filled to capacity, but registrations will be accepted for the 3.5 mile run at any time, including the day of the race. Cost of registration for the 3.5 mile run is $20 for adults and $5 for kids 14 and under. 

All runners and members of the community are invited to a post-run celebration at the Keene Valley Country Club, Route 73 in Keene Valley. There will be plenty of food (for just $8 per person), drink (including beer from Lake Placid Pub & Brewery), good cheer and live music from The Retro Rockets! Finally, in the spirit of community, organizers are asking that all participants and attendees bring a non-perishable donation to the Keene Food Pantry. Donations will be accepted at The Mountaineer and at the post-race celebration at Keene Valley Country Club.

The Mountaineer is grateful to the state of New York and to the private land owners for allowing us to host this event. Sponsors Patagonia, Salomon, Julbo, Hoka, La Sportiva, Vasque, Darn Tough, Montrail, Outdoor Research, Trail Runner Magazine and Lake Placid Pub & Brewery will donate prizes for the top runners as well as great booty for all participants. All runners will receive a Great Adirondack Trail Run t-shirt!
