[img:sinfonietta1.jpg]LAKE PLACID, ADIRONDACKS USA -  The Lake Placid Sinfonietta is set for its first performance in 2012 with "Champlain National Bank Celebrate's America". This free community park concert will be held at 7 PM in the Paul White Memorial shell in Mid's Park in downtown Lake Placid, after the July 4th parade and before the start of the scheduled fireworks display.

The evening's program will include patriotic favorites including Victor Herbert's "American Fantasy" and marches by John Philips Sousa. Alford's popular "Colonel Bogey March" is planned along with "Hoe Down" by Aaron Copland and Irving Berlin's "God Bless America." Mid's park offers limited seating options so patrons are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to use during the concert. Children, families, and picnics are welcome!

In the event of poor weather the concert will be moved to St. Agnes church on Saranac Ave. and begin at 7:15 PM. A decision to move to the rainsite will be made at 5 PM with a notice will posted on the website and displayed on a sign at the street level of the park.

The Lake Placid Sinfonietta is a summer chamber orchestra whose musicians come from larger orchestras and university faculties throughout the country. From it's inception in 1917 to the present day, it has provided excellence in classical performance to the heart of the Adirdonacks.
