Fly and drive into the Adirondacks
Small private or corporate aircraft are able to fly directly into Lake Placid Airport (LKP). There is also non-stop service via Cape Air commuter service from Boston's Logan Airport into Adirondack Regional Airport (SLK - Adirondack Regional). The Boston to Saranac Lake flight is approximately 90 minutes, and there are 4 flight options a day, Adirondack Regional Airport is a 20-minute drive to Lake Placid.
Just one hour north of Lake Placid, Plattsburgh International Airport (PBG) is conveniently located off New York's I-87, on beautiful Lake Champlain. There is daily scheduled flight service between PBG and several Florida airports as well as connecting flights to Boston's Logan International Airport.
Driving through the Adirondack Mountains is part of the charm of getting here! With that in mind, many people choose to fly into one of the larger hubs located within easy driving distance to Lake Placid. The ease of directions, lack of traffic, and the absolutely outstanding scenery that surrounds you will have you in full-on vacation mode before you actually land in the village. We're less than five hours' drive from Northeast metropolitan areas including New York City and Boston; less than 4 hours from Syracuse, NY and Ottawa, Canada; and two to three hours from Albany, NY, Burlington, VT, and Montreal, Canada!
