Six Course Chef's Table "A Night In Greece"

Taverna is thrilled to be bringing you a Chef's Table with the food and wines of our roots, A Night in Greece.

Chef / Owner Lou Iakovidis has designed a six course menu paired with amazing wines from some of the most historic wine regions in Europe. Ingredients from local Adirondack farms will top off the flavors of this beautiful Mediterranean meal.

1st Course – Garithes: Jumbo Shrimp Sautéed in Olive Oil with Whole Garlic, Parsley, Oregano, Salt, Pepper and Lemon Juice

2nd Course – Sheftalia: Ground Pork with Onions, Parsley, Garlic, and Lime Juice, wrapped in Caul Fat and Grilled. Served with Pita Bread and Tzatziki Sauce

3rd Course – Fasolia Giganites: Giant Beans stewed with Tomatoes, Onions, Garlic, Carrots and Celery

5th Course – Rotisserie Leg of Lamb with Fingerling Lemon Potatoes and a Red Wine Pan Sauce

It is believed that wine-making in Greece dates back approximately 6,500 years. Ancient Greece is credited as pioneering methods of wine-making that they later introduced to France, Italy, Sicily, Spain, Austria and Russia and is known to be the first wine-producing territories in Europe. In ancient Greece the culture of wine was embodied by the God, Dionyssus. Historically, Greece is home to the second oldest known grapewine remnants discovered in the world and the world's earliest evidence of crushed grapes.

Our goal at Taverna is to bring traditionally inspired, modern Mediterranean food to our guests and to support our local economy. We do our best to source ingredients from regional farmers and purveyors, and compliment them with carefully curated imports. It helps us to realize our vision of creating beautiful Mediterranean flavors, showcases the most vibrant foods, and gives our guests the truest Adirondack dining experience.

Doors open at 6PM. Dinner service begins promptly at 6:30PM. Capacity is limited. Price includes gratuity.
