Ramarkable Women of the Adirondacks
Celebrate women's history with author and scholar, Sandra Weber as she presents 'Remarkable Women of the Adirondacks' in part of the Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society's Winter Lecture Series.
In this lively program of portrayals, stories and songs, Sandra Weber presents the wild spirit of Adirondack women. Dressed in period costume, she delivers dramatic narratives of women such as pancake-fipper Mother Johnson, poet/model Jeanne Robert Foster, tuberculosis patient Martha Reben, suffrage martyr Inez Milholland, abolitionist Mary Brown, and hotelier Lydia Smith.
The Lake Placid-North Elba Historical Society's fourth and final 2018 Winter Lecture will be on April 18, at Generations (2543 Main St, Lake Placid).
