Celebrate the Fourth of July in Lake Placid

Fourth of July celebrations in Lake Placid

In Lake Placid, the Fourth of July is celebrated all day long and into the evening!

4th of July parade

Ending the afternoon every year is Lake Placid's Fourth of July gala parade, starting at 5 p.m. With marching bands and lots of local civic groups, businesses and individuals, the parade has grown into a great crowd pleaser!

Meet our World Championship medal winning local athletes

In addition to many Olympic and upcoming athletes marching with the US Olympic Training Center unit, our July 4th parade will feature a few of our local winter athletes who won medals in World Championship competition this past season. Immediately following the parade, at Mid’s Park on Main Street, there will be an autograph session and meet and greet, along with a short ceremony celebrating their amazing achievements.

Included in the lineup are Lowell Bailey, who in February, 2017, became  the first American ever to win a world championship in biathlon, the grueling sport of cross-country skiing and target shooting; bobsledders Elana Meyers-Taylor, Women's 2017 World Champion, and Jamie Greubel, bronze medalist in the 2017 World Championships.

You won’t want to miss the opportunity to bring the kids and meet some of our amazing Olympians and World Champions right here in their training ground.  Meet at Mid’s Park on Main Street immediately following the July 4th parade!

Live entertainment in Mid’s Park

This year, the Songs at Mirror Lake concert series falls on July 4th! Join us from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Mid's Park bandshell to listen to one of the hottest bands on the national scene. Grab your seat early and stick around after the show for the July 4th fireworks.

Fireworks over Mirror Lake

Topping off the day is Lake Placid's legendary Fourth of July fireworks extravaganza, Set the Night to Music. The fireworks show, which begins at 9:30 p.m., is choreographed to music broadcast on local radio station 93.3 FM WSLP.

Along with these major Independence Day events, there are lots of other events going on around the area. Come find out why Lake Placid's celebration draws thousands of visitors every year!

Thanks to this year's fireworks sponsors!
