From the trailhead you will hike a wonderful trail through a lush forest rife with greens and step ledges. The rocky terrain makes it fun as you approach a most lovely backcountry pond.
The trail will bring you to the north end of the pond, where it is obvious from the rhododendrons that a homestead was once here.
Styles Brook Road: From the intersection of state Routes 86 and Route 73 in Lake Placid, follow Route 73 toward Keene. Continue into Keene, and take Route 9N toward Jay. Continue for just over 3 miles and turn right on Styles Brook Road. Follow this for about a mile to the trailhead on the left. Parking is on the right.
