Part of the Giant Mountain hike, it is a mostly open trail with lovely views. In winter, the north-west orientation means more snow than ice on the trail.
Bald Peak Trailhead: Route 9, 4.9 miles North of the Junction with Rt 73, and 1.3 miles South of the New Russian Post Office, 3.9 miles, Moderate Climb with bare rock approaching the summit.
