Big Slide Brewery & Public House opened in June of 2016 at 5686 Cascade Road, just over a mile from downtown Lake Placid, near several popular and busy sites such as the Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds, the Olympic Torch, the Ski Jump Complex, Craig Wood Golf Course, the ADK Loj, and the Bobsled Track. 

Brewing is handled on our hybrid 3.5/5 barrel brew-house, located right in the center of our dynamic concrete-topped bar, our comfortable dining room, and the semi-open kitchen. With 10 beers on tap, we feature a wide variety of styles including pale ales, IPAs, porters, stouts, and Belgian beers. In addition, we have a separate fermentation room which we call The Funk Room, designed specifically for sour and wild-fermented beers such as Berliner Weisse, Gose, and lambic beers. In the middle of the bar, you will see a wall of wooden barrels which house beer aging inside of them, soaking up the flavors of the liquors which originally lived inside, like bourbon, whiskey, and red wine. Big Slide pushes the envelope of beer styles. Our beer is available to-go in freshly filled crowlers too!

Executive chef Greg Sherman sources most of our ingredients locally, and offers the freshest food in the area. This is not your typical pub grub, but it is approachable and delicious. Our menu features snacks like marcona almonds in hop oil and thyme, Cake Placid pretzel nuggets with beer cheese, and tater tot poutine, salads like the Little Gem of A Salad, with Little Gem Lettuce Wedge, Grilled Hanger Steak, Asgaard Dairy Blue Line cheese, red peppers, fig, walnut, honey chimichurri vinaigrette, & sandwiches like a shaved steak sandwich with thinly-sliced ribeye, Sugarhouse Creamery Dutch Knuckle cheese, sautéed onions and Mushrooms, and Horseradish Aioli. Or how about pizzas cooked in our 700 degree brick oven? Looking for a Tomahawk Pork Chop or chicken fried chicken over smoked ham grits? We have those too.
