Activity at the museum is increasing as everyone bustles about preparing for opening day (May 26). One of our interns, Kaleigh, and I have been working on a temporary exhibit, the focus of which is an amazingly detailed handcrafted model of a cabin, barn, and carriage shed.

Large and small craft from all parts of the country make daily stops at the pier of the Crown Point State Park, where the boat owners visit this delightful recreation and historic center on the lake. Other ports along the lake are also visited by these craft.

"How Dolls Are Made"March 21, 1907--Many big things are needed to make a small doll. She has her beginning in a great trough, where workmen knead up into a dingy paste old cardboard, even old gloves, old rags and gum tragacanth. They are great brawny fellows, these men, naked to the waist, wearing leathern aprons. In an adjoining room the paste is poured into molds for the bust, the arms, the legs of the dolls innumerable.

"ICE SKATING (ON REAL ICE) TO BE LAKE PLACID SUMMER FEATURE"April, 1946-Ice skating on real ice will be one of the features of the Lake Placid summer recreation and sports program. Ice skating in the summer was born in the world famous Olympic Arena at Lake Placid in the summer of 1932, when for the first time on the North American continent an indoor arena attempted the unheard of feat of scheduling ice skating during the hot months of July and August.
